The Tide Climbing Centre is a family friendly, state of the art climbing centre in north Cornwall, 7 miles from Wadebridge. We cater for all sorts of climbing and are in the unique position to offer both bouldering and rope climbing under one roof.

We launched The Tide Climbing Centre in 2019, after a successful crowdfunding campaign and the amazing support of the local Cornish climbing and surf community and it has fast become the largest indoor climbing centre in the county.

Our Facilities

We have over 100 bouldering problems for you to try, as well as 22 lines and 4 auto belay points. Our mission is to position The Tide Climbing Centre at the forefront of inclusive climbing in the South West. We offer a range of taster sessions, 1-to-1 coaching and kids climbing clubs to help climbers of all ages and abilities access and progress within the sport.

Our onsite Café serves locally sourced coffee along with a range of freshly cooked paninis and pizzas. The open plan design lends itself well for post-climb refreshments with family and friends, as well as providing remote workspaces for freelancers and local professionals.

Our Studio hosts yoga classes and fitness sessions throughout the week and is also available to hire for children’s birthday parties, networking sessions and community events.

Our facilities are dog friendly too! We love welcoming well-behaved dogs of all ages. Check out our Instagram highlight to see some of canine visitors.

Sustainability

We are committed to the environment and our community and operate as sustainably as possible to reduce our environmental impact. Our facilities operate entirely on wind power. Barnfields business park has its own turbine in the field opposite the centre. We run as much of the centre as possible using renewable electricity, including our pizza oven.

We also offer anyone a free tea as a reward for travelling as sustainably as possible. The more inventive the mode of transport the better! So far we’ve had runners, cyclists, carpoolers but we’re still waiting to welcome our first horse drawn carriage of climbers!

We’re passionate about finding ethical alternatives and solutions to improve our sustainability and we hope our efforts inspire the wider community to make responsible choices that benefit the environment.

Our Team

The Tide Climbing Centre currently employs 14 people from across the south west. Our team are committed to providing an accessible, inclusive climbing experience to all visitors. Many of our team members are climbers themselves and can be found exploring new routes across Cornwall and Devon on their days off!
